BAE Systems awarded $149.8M contract for USS Boxer
The work will include upgrades and repairs intended to maintain the ship's operational readiness and extend its service capabilities.
BAE Systems has been awarded a $149.8 million contract by the U.S. Navy to maintain and modernize the USS Boxer, with work to be performed at Naval Base San Diego.
The firm-fixed-price contract covers a selected restricted availability, or SRA, period for the amphibious assault ship, including modernization, maintenance and repairs.
The contract has a potential value of $180 million if all options are exercised, the company said Wednesday.
The USS Boxer, an amphibious assault ship designated LHD 4, is part of the Navy's fleet of large-deck amphibious ships used to support Marine Corps operations.
